BA (Hons) Fine Art – Canary Girls Bike Ride

We celebrated International Women’s Day with the ‘Canary Bike Ride’ and the unveiling of the new memorial to all Rotherwas workers.

BA (Hons) Fine Art student Lin Mathias organised a bike ride to commemorate the munitions workers of Rotherwas. Dozens of cyclists followed the same routes taken daily by thousands of men and women during WW1 and WW2.

Lin’s aim was to bring the workers to life and share their stories, hear their voices and mark the unique rolls that they played in history.
