About the Board of Governors

Our Board of Governors represent a cross-section of the creative, educational, media, business and financial sectors. The skills and experience our Governors bring is invaluable to the College.

The primary responsibilities of the Board is to:

  • advance HCA's mission
  • provide organisational oversight
  • set policies
In general terms, it is responsible for the quality of service that the college offers to learners and the local community.
The Board also provides oversight for the college’s strategic direction, financial health and ensuring it complies to general law relating to employment, equality and diversity, health and safety, safeguarding and Prevent and GDPR.

Our Board of Governors

Chair of Governors Mervyn Jones photographed outside the entrance to CRC

Hereford College of Arts is a magical place. The wonderful students, inspirational staff and engaging leadership make chairing it one of life’s great privileges, both culturally and professionally. Challenges are addressed with optimism and the rewards are evident at the annual shows, talking to the students and their families about their journeys and the wonderful creative careers that they are moving into, and spending time with their academic mentors. It is one of this country’s truly life affirming institutions. I’ve been chair for eight years and loved it!
