About the role

Our Board has nineteen voluntary Governors, including the Principal, Staff and Student Governors.  Independent Governors are appointed, initially, for a 4-year period of office and normally serve up to 8 years.

The role of a Governor requires energy, motivation and a commitment to attend around ten meetings each year.  Our Governors use their experience collectively to contribute to the future of the College.  Independent Governors bring a variety of backgrounds including business, education and the community.

Training and development

We provide training and support to enable Governors to discharge their responsibilities effectively and with confidence.  Induction training is provided for new Governors who are also assigned a mentor.

How to apply

To apply please request an application form by emailing Rebecca Semple, Clerk to the Governors (R.Semple@hca.ac.uk).  Alternatively, phone Rebecca for an informal discussion 01432 379351.
