HCA Artist Blacksmithing students and alumni were among those in Holme Lacy for the British Artist Blacksmithing Association's annual celebration of forged metal.

Will Maguire - who trained as an industrial blacksmith and boilermaker before becoming a renowned and considered sculptor of forged metal - was joined by Canadian writer and exhibitor Charles Lewton-Brain and British artist Cara Wassenburg in an incredible lineup for 2024.

Both Will and Charles were also able to visit HCA ahead of the event, with the former hosting a Talking Practice lecture for students.

The conference was also well-attended by former HCA students including Jacob Edwards, Maxwell Anderson and Sam Pearce

"A wonderful weekend at BABA Conference at the National School Blacksmithing - especially loved catching up with lots of HCA alumni and hearing about what they’re making and selling. It's so exciting to see their careers progress!"
