Students from the Artist Blacksmithing programme at Hereford College of Arts collaborated with Simon Bushell, a renowned travelling artist blacksmith and owner of the Nowhere Forge to deliver a six day workshop.

Over the course of six days in February and March 2024, students from the Artist Blacksmithing programme at Hereford College of Arts collaborated with Simon Bushell, a renowned travelling artist blacksmith and owner of the Nowhere Forge. This innovative workshop featured a self-sufficient, sustainably powered mobile blacksmithing setup, allowing for a fresh approach to traditional craftsmanship.

The Nowhere Forge was brought to The Cart Shed, where Simon and the students warmly welcomed participants to engage in hands-on experiences. Attendees had the unique opportunity to craft their own spoons using a variety of materials, including steel, copper, hazel, and willow. This activity not only introduced participants to some of the earliest processes developed by humans but also fostered a sense of community and shared creativity.
