Steve has been a practicing motion designer since leaving university in 2006, having worked with a broad range of brands from the world of technology, education, and telecommunications, producing screen-based content to promote product launches, brand awareness and campaigns. Alongside his practice, Steve has worked in education since 2014
Alan has always been mad for drawing. He completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting and a Master's in Art & Design at Grays School of Art, before joining HCA in 2003 as an Artist in Residence. Alan now passes on his knowledge and skills, as a lecturer.
Claire studied HND Design Crafts at HCA before setting up as a designer/maker, selling through contemporary galleries and private commissions both nationally and internationally. Before returning to HCA to teach, Claire spent 2 years in Rwanda teaching and volunteering with local NGO’s running Art projects.
Exhibiting regularly for over 20 years, Darren completed an MA in Fine Art at UWIC in 2006. Darren has felt privileged to work with FE students for a number of years, having previously been Course Leader on the Extended Diploma in Art & Design Course.
As a maker, I like to create things that people want to keep and pass down; things that are unique and long-lasting, rather than throwaway. Since graduating from the Artist Blacksmithing degree I’ve been employed by George James and Sons, a blacksmithing company that has been open since 1841. Amongst other things, we do a lot of conservation work. Most recently we restored one of the gates at Hampton Court Palace

Simon Bushell is a travelling artist blacksmith and owner of The Nowhere Forge, a self-sufficient, sustainably powered mobile blacksmithing workshop.
