An incredible achievement for second year BA(Hons) Artist Blacksmithing.
BA(Hons) Artist Blacksmithing students participate in touring exhibition aiming to inspire peace and solidarity in the face of global conflicts.
Students from the Artist Blacksmithing programme at Hereford College of Arts collaborated with Simon Bushell, a renowned travelling artist blacksmith and owner of the Nowhere Forge to deliver a six day workshop.
The Chasing Nature project introduces children to metal chasing techniques, allowing them to create votive plaques that celebrate the beauty of the natural world. Students guide the pupils through the process of preparing designs, which are then transferred to small metal plates. The children emboss their designs onto the metal.
This year’s festival attracted over 96,000 visitors over the 10-day festival, to see thirteen exhibitions within city-centre venues, including takeovers of empty shop units to create easy-to-access exhibition spaces.
Maxwell kickstarted his career at HCA and has since worked both nationally and internationally.
With over 40 years of experience, Henry has taught blacksmithing internationally and currently works with HCA and the National School of Blacksmithing.
