Judy Balderson

Initially  I worked for the Local Authority until October 1980 when I began a  long career within Post Office Ltd, retiring in 2016.  During my time with POL,  I also served as a Magistrate, sitting regularly for over 10 years.

Looking for a new challenge and use of spare time after I retired- I discovered Governance in 2017 and continue to work as a Governor and Trustee at several primary and a secondary school.  I also volunteer one day a week at a school, reading with pupils aged 5-6.    

I really enjoy working with my fellow Governors and the staff at HCA.  The work is challenging at times but fulfilling.  I find it rewarding that the board works with a common aim to improve the learning experience of all students.  I enjoy attending events and meeting students and staff when I visit the college sites. The level of talent and commitment the students display and the dedication of the college staff is truly inspiring.
