People decide to study at masters level for many different reasons and from many different walks of life.

Whether you come to us to deepen your current creative practice or to change direction we believe we can offer you an exceptional environment and individual support for your creative journey. As an independent specialist arts school, Hereford College of Arts offers a very distinctive postgraduate experience and our smaller scale supports students to collaborate and work across disciplines where they wish.

This year we are thrilled to be expanding our postgraduate offer.

Starting in September 2025 we are launching MA Artist Blacksmithing. The programme will provide a unique offer for artists looking to explore their creativity through forged metalwork, and be run by our BA(hons) Artist Blacksmithing lead, Delyth Done MBE.

Reassess and reimagine your practice

Your Masters study will be distinct to your personal practice. The course is an opportunity to dive deeper into the ideas and concepts that shape your creative direction, and to challenge you to apply them in new and inventive ways.

Staff are your peers in this process. They provide support, and are often the prompts for curiosity and growth, but they work alongside you as fellow artists.

Build a foundation to thrive in your professional practice

Through a Masters course you will develop a depth of understanding and self-knowledge about your artistic practice that will help sustain and drive your career as a creative practitioner.

You will also emerge from this course with connections and professional skills to be able to take the next step in your practice, and shape a career that is dynamic, fulfilling and individual to you.
