We are looking for a multi-skilled Technical Demonstrator to work across our workshops. Responsibilities will include assisting academic staff during practical sessions, offering technical support to students and the maintenance of the equipment.

You will need specific expertise in one of the following areas and a working knowledge of at least one of the remaining:

  • Metals – hand and machine processes, welding
  • Wood – hand and machine processes
  • Casting (e.g. Resin/composites, silicon, Jesmonite, low-temperature metals)
  • CAD skill
  • Multi-disciplinary application – laser/vinyl cutter, 3D printing etc.

Knowledge of simple electronics, Arduino/RaspberryPi (or similar), mechatronics and/or prototyping would be an advantage. Good communication skills are essential along with the ability to work on your own initiative. Health and Safety experience would be an advantage. Experience of manufacturing/industry would be an advantage.
